Box style:

All flaps are the same length and the two outer flaps (normally the lengthwise flaps) meet at the center of the box.
Full overlap carton (FOL) Full overlap carton (FOL) Full Overlap Carton (FOL) The outer flaps come within one inch of complete overlap when closed. Stacked on its side, added stacking strength is provided due to the extra thickness.

In shipping, the FOL is especially resistant to rough handling.
Half-slotted carton (HSC) Half-slotted carton (HSC) Half Slotted Carton (HSC) The HSC is the same as the RSC without one set of flaps. A cover (lid) can be added if desired. Covers can vary to extend the full box depth or just a few inches of the box depth.

When used for storage, the HSC and cover are ideal in applications where the cover will be removed repeatedly.
Telescoping design carton (TD) Telescoping design carton (TD) Telescoping Design Carton (TD) The telescoping carton is made of two scored and slotted trays. The lid can vary to extend the full box depth or just a few inches of the box depth.

This style of carton is convenient for large thin items. The customer must glue or staple the slotted ends to the sidewalls.
Five panel folder standard (FPF) Five panel folder standard (FPF) Five Panel Folder (FPF) When closed, the FPF has extra cushioning at the ends. The end flaps overlap providing stacking strength making this style of carton ideal for long items with a small diameter. The several layers prevent the item from pushing through the ends and causing damage in shipping.

Simply place your item in the center of the box and wrap the box around it. You can choose the side seam closure (standard FPF) or a center seam closure (FPFCF).

Plain pads (PAD) Plain pads (PAD) Plain Pads Plain pads are used for extra cushioning or added protection of your product. Pads can be used to separate layers of product, to completely cover the bottom of a box, or on the top of a box to cover your product before closing the carton.

Plain pads can also be used vertically to separate product, as backers for posters or calendars, backers for shrink-wrapped items, etc.
Scored pads (S-PAD) Scored pads (S-PAD) Scored Pads Many inner packaging pieces are simply scored pads folded or glued in various shapes. Scored pads can be folded and used for cushioning. As a suspension or separation function the pad holds the product away from the walls of the box to lessen the impact of drops and bumps during shipping.

They are also used as void fillers which adds stacking strength to the box of irregular shaped products.
One piece folder (OPF) One piece folder (OPF) One-Piece Folder (OPF) The OPF is convenient for shipping small, flat items - such as books and videos. One piece of corrugated is uniquely cut to provide a flat bottom with flaps forming the sides and ends.

The extended side flaps meet to form the top of the box.
Double cover container (DC) Double cover container (DC) Half Slotted Carton (HSC) The DC is used for tall or heavy items. Rather than lowering a heavy item into a box, the item is placed on the bottom cover, and the square tube (the body of the box) is lowered over the product.

The covers are interchangeable. The pieces are shipped flat to the user. Open and square to tube, and set up the covers.

Under ideal conditions the total weight of the box and contents cannot exceed 95 lbs.
275# DW 275# DW 275DW Double wall material consists of three sheets of linerboard with two mediums in between - the medium being the wavy, fluted paper. Our 275#DW material is ordinarily ECT51 which means it has an Edge Crush Test of 51 lbs. per in. width.

Under ideal conditions the total weight of the box and contents cannot exceed 120 lbs.
200# SW White 200# SW White 200SW Single wall material consists of two sheets of linerboard with medium in between - the medium being the wavy fluted paper. With the white single wall, the top linerboard is white and the bottom linerboard is kraft (brown). When a box is made using white material, the outside of the box will be white, but the inside of the box will be kraft.

Much of the time white boxes are associated with food items. Our 200#SW material is ordinarily ECT32 which means it has an Edge Crush Test of 32 lbs. per in. width. Under ideal conditions the total weight of the box and contents cannot exceed 65 lbs.

How do I measure a box?

Always use the inside dimensions when measuring. The dimensions should be given in the order of length, width, and then depth. First, measure the opening of the box. This is the length and width of the box - the length being the larger of the two dimensions and always listed first. Next, measure the depth of the box. This is how deep your product fits into the carton - the vertical dimension, if your box were sitting on a desk in front of you.


What is your order minimum?

There is no minimum order with custom sized cartons. Our stock items (ready made) have a minimum order quantity of one bundle - simply because the stock sizes are bundled and warehoused for your quick access. This is listed in the product information.
How long does it take to complete and ship my order?

What is SW and DW material?

What is SW and DW material?
Two main components make up corrugated fiberboard: the linerboard and the medium. The linerboard is the flat facing that adheres to the medium. The medium is the wavy, fluted paper in between the liners. Single wall material (SW) has the medium between two sheets of linerboard. Double wall material (DW) has three sheets of linerboard with two mediums in between.

What if I want printing on my boxes?

We love doing printed cartons! For any printing needs, you will need to contact us to get a quote. Often times there will be small lead times associated with these orders. You can get printing on both stock size cartons or custom size cartons.

How will my boxes arrive?

Depending on the quantity and size of the cartons, they will arrive by Fed Ex ground, UPS ground or common carrier. Your boxes are shipped flat. To assemble, the box user opens and squares the box. Then close the bottom flaps and tape, staple or use hot melt glue.

How do I know what style of box to order?

The RSC and FOL are the same, but where the RSC flaps fold and meet in the middle for taping, the FOL flaps fully overlap each other. This gives the FOL more structural strength or resistance to twisting/bending.

The HSC style only has flaps on one side (that fold and meet in the middle), and the other is open.

The One Panel Folder is the only style we can run in depths less than 3", and is best suited for flat objects (less than 3"). It is designed to fit snugly, so please do not add any extra space.

The Tray and Cover is best suited for heavy or bulky objects, as the bottom can be loaded without reaching over flaps. The cover fully telescopes (slides over) the tray, giving additional vertical strength to prevent the box from crushing. It does require stapling or gluing the corner flaps to assemble; we recommend using a heavy duty stapler or hot melt glue.
